Co-Curricular Activities

Purpose

Co-curricular activities are those which are undertaken side by side with the curricular activities. A co-curricular activity essentially takes place outside a TYPICAL pen and pencil classroom experiences. It gives the students an opportunity to develop particular skills and exhibit their technical abilities through paper presentation competition, project competitions, coding, mini-projects etc. These activities give the students a platform to showcase their innovative ideas.

Objective

1. To Build paths for students to develop their interest and talents within their scope of studies.

1. Allowing students to explore strengths and talents outside of academics (such as music, leadership, athletics, writing, and debate).
2. Helping students develop stronger time-management and organizational skills.
3. Teaching the importance of following through on commitments.
4. Giving students the opportunity to build friendships and participate in group activities outside of the tight circle of the regular classroom.
5. Helping to build confidence and self-esteem.
6. Providing a way to keep students supervised even outside of school hours and channeling their energies in positive directions (rather than toward drug abuse, crime, etc).
7. Building skills that are not necessarily taught in the classroom but are still important for the future.
8. Looking good on a school transcript or college application.

The seemingly boundless energy of the students is not just channelized into the demanding activities of the academic curriculum; they find the time and energy to participate in the varied activities depending on their interests.
Debates, Seminars, Presentations, Group discussions, Book reviews and quizzes go on round the year(both semesters), honing the communication skills and enhancing the knowledge of future managers. Work shops are organized from time to time for current technologies used which facilitate the growth of the students to take on the challenges of the corporate world.
JSIMR also encourages the students for handling various projects in industries through Institute Industry tie-up. Also students have developed various projects for inhouse administrative & academic work.
